BARRABA HIGHLIGHTS

Barraba is a town of around 1200 people situated in the New England region of New Soth Wales. Located just to the south–west is the Manilla River which flows from the Baldwins Range down into the hill country of the New England highlands and the southern slopes of the Nandewar Range. Barraba has many references to meaning in by Abroriginal culture, with one being "meeting place".

The whole area has been settled by Aboriginals for thousands of years, the first European to discover the area was by botanist and explorer, Allan Cunningham in 1827 then settled by at a land holding named Barraba Station by 1838. In 1852 the present day townsite was mapped by the Assistant Surveyor, J. T. Gorman.

With the Nandewar Ranges located to the west, the Horton Valley to the north-west, and undulating slopes and tablelands to the south-east and north - our Barraba hunting properties are the perfect getaway at around 6.5 hours drive north of Sydney.
