BOURKE #5 HUNTING PROPERTY

 Bourke #5 is a 100,000 Acre property containing flatlands, river frontage and scrub, attracting a variety of wildlife.

Pigs, cats, and foxes are all available for hunting on this property.

Quads, buggys/bikes, spotlighting and hunting dogs are all allowed on the acerage.

4WD is advised to gain access to the property and it would be beneficial to traverse the acerage.

Some patchy Telstra phone reception is available throughout the property.

There is some self contained sherers quarters available to sleep up to 10 people. There is also a medium sized cabin and small toilet/shower block situated on the river bank.

Owner would prefer guns to be sighted away from the homestead and shearers quarters.

 

Terrain

Bourke #5 comprises scrubby flatlands along river frontage and red sandy country. It contains a section of river, providing some stunning river frontage views.

 

Temperature and Rainfall

Average of 6 - 19 degrees in winter.

Average of 21 - 35 degrees in summer.

 

Facilities

The shearers quarters can accomodate up to 10 people, there is also a medium sized cabin and small toilet/shower block on the edge of the river.

 

Best Time to Book

Best time to book is year round, however the summer months can get very hot.

The best time to arrive and depart are during daylight hours.

 

Property Owners Rules

Rules are common sense, gates are to be left as they are found, no shooting at or near grazing livestock, hunt respectfully, leave the accommodation as it was found, make sure to take any rubbish with you or use the bins provided. Obey any fire restrictions that are currently in place. Do not drive on property roads after rain. Please do not bring pig carcasses back to the quarters.

The property uses UHF 36.

If you treat the property with respect you will be welcomed back.

  

Property History and Information

The owners have a long history of running livestock farms, being the 6th generation. The property was settled 131 years ago and continues to be a fantastic example of country Australia.

 

Additional Supplies

The town of Bourke is the best local place to restock and resupply, which is located 71Kms away. Bourke contains a gorcery store and fuel station, supplying gas, petrol and deisel. There is also the town of Enngonia a 45Kms drive away, which can provided basic groceries and has a local pub.

For access to any of our properties, all Shooters, Non-shooters and Bow Hunters require current membership of one of the following:


All Doggers on dogging approved properties need to be a member of the APDHA

For each non-hunter attending any of our properties, it is compulsory to be covered by current comprehensive public liability insurance. This is a non-negotiable requirement and forms part of your booking contract. Similar to having travel insurance to go on holidays. This insurance is available by being a current member of an AHO, the SSAA or the Shooters Union before your booking is approved.

We also recommend current ambulance cover.

You enter these properties fully aware of the risks involved and do so at your own risk.
