Texas #5 property has a total land area of 1,250 acres, with a mix of hilly, mountainous, scrub, and forest terrain. Visitors can sight deer, pigs, foxes, cats, rabbits, and hares. This property is a perfect place to connect with nature and enjoy the fresh air with family and friends.
Visitors can use any vehicle to reach this property but a 4WD is needed to drive around the property. It is a 15km drive from the nearest town.
There are no sleeping quarters available, but the property offers various areas for visitors to put up their tents. There is no need to bring firewood for the campfire, as there is plenty of wood available around the property.
However, visitors must bring all other necessary camping, and hunting gear. Do not forget to bring warm clothes if visiting during winter.
When hunting, visitors can sight their guns and bows at specified safe sites. Property owners allow target shooting but please be aware at all times and follow the safety precautions outlined within the signed agreement signed at the time of booking. There should be no indiscriminate shooting.

Terrain
The property is located along the Dumareso River in Texas and Oaky Creek is also found within the property. It is a very hilly rough, timbered country, with several dams. In some areas, you can find a streak of mountains and forests. Visitors can enjoy picturesque views at high points.
Temperature and Rainfall
During summer, the temperature ranges from 20 to 32 degrees Celsius and, during winter, 0 to 20 degrees Celsius. The climate in Queensland has an annual average temperature of 30 degrees Celsius. There is an average of around one to two heavy rainfall days per year.
Facilities
The property offers a vast area for camping and possible sightings of pigs, foxes, cats, rabbits, and hares. Visitors will need to bring all their own camping and hunting gear, as well as sun protection, mosquito repellent, and a complete emergency kit, as the property owners only have a basic first aid kit.
Best Time to Book
Visitors can book any time of the year but please book before arriving. This property is a great destination in any season. Summer and spring are the best times if visitors enjoy hunting, but winter offers a different atmosphere and amazing views. Please inform the property owners when departing.
Property Owners Rules
The rules on the property are outlined in the property access book. However, the owners would like to emphasise the following important points:
No shooting at or within 500 m of grazing stock, or on ridgelines
No shooting anywhere near the property owner's house, or barns, or livestock shelters
Observe property boundaries
Avoid driving on crops
When driving, keep your distance from grazing stock
Avoid drinking alcohol and hunting at the same time
Clean as you go and dispose of rubbish at the designated area
Be mindful when starting any fire and obey if there's a fire restriction
Take only memories and photos and leave only footprints
Always close the gates as found.

The property owners bought this property in 2020 and have slowly been developing it. Their goals are to share the beautiful place and its abundant wildlife and nature with visitors. Through hunting, they intend to maintain the delicate balance between predators and prey in this natural ecosystem.
The owners also wish to preserve the natural terrain and water resources and are open to short chats with visitors. Visitors should feel free to ask questions about how best to enjoy their stay.
Tourist Attractions
There are a number of beautiful and interesting places nearby, including the Texas Rabbits Work or Texas Historical Museum and the Dumereso River has beautiful riverbanks to walk along or fish from. There are several great restaurants in town.
Additional Supplies
If visitors need supplies or additional fuel, Foodworks Texas is easily accessible and open Monday to Friday from 8am to 6.30pm. Texas Rural Agencies is also open Monday to Saturday 8am to 5pm. Visitors can also enjoy the Texas Cafe and Stockman's Hotel. Visitors should ideally come prepared with all their supplies at the outset and only supplement their stocks from these additional suppliers.

For each non-hunter attending any of our properties, it is compulsory to be covered by current comprehensive public liability insurance. This is a non-negotiable requirement and forms part of your booking contract. Similar to having travel insurance to go on holidays. This insurance is available by being a current member of an AHO, the SSAA or the Shooters Union before your booking is approved.
You enter these properties fully aware of the risks involved and do so at your own risk. IHP, property owners and all related and unrelated parties are not held liable for any claim, accident or injury.
In other words, take responsibility for your own actions, watch what you are doing and ACT LIKE AN ADULT WITH COMMON SENSE.
Risk assessments must be taken for potential hazards whilst using any bikes, quads/ATV or buggy's on the property.
Some properties only allow certain types of vehicles. Please check listing carefully. Helmet and protective gear to be worn whenever operating these vehicles.
We recommend the Yassi Course or some form of accredited training be taken prior to using any bikes, quads/ATV or buggy’s on the property.
Bikes, buggy’s and Quads/ATV are to be taken onto properties entirely at your own risk.
