Condamine #1 is flat scrub country and flat flooded country. It is highly improved with a large area cultivated with winter and summer crops. There are about 600 cattle on the property and around 10 horses. It is best to avoid the wet weather dirt roads.

Hunters love the easy accessibility, challenge, peace and quiet and of course, the wildlife.

Temperature ranges from -2 degrees to quite hot and rainfall averages 23mm a year.

Shearers hut is satisfactory accommodation with lights, fridge, freezer, shower, stove, toilet and sleeps 6. Mattresses, pillows and cooking gear provided. Bring all food, plus sheets, blankets and towels.

Best Time to Book

The best time to book is all year. Avoid heavy rainfall.

The best time to arrive or depart the property is 7am-7pm or anytime with a bit of notice to the property owner.

Property Owners Rules

Rules on the property are simple – follow and read the conditions for property access book. Common Sense – leave gates as found, no shooting at or anywhere near grazing cattle, or on ridgelines, respecting property boundaries, avoid driving on near crops, on cropped country or gardens. Our landscape is not your racetrack - no hooning vehicles. Please minimise disturbance to owners’ animals. Hunt respectfully, kill humanely. Take all rubbish with you to the designated area, obey any fire restrictions especially total fire bans.

If you treat the property with respect you will be welcomed back.

The property uses channel 32.

Property History and Information

The property has been in the current owners’ family for 110 years and the area was once heavily timbered. Part of property goes underwater in the major floods that occur about every 10 years.

Hunters and their families can enjoy the peace, sounds and scenery of nature, whilst staying in relative comfort at the shearers hut. Swimming, walking, fishing and of course, picnics, campfires and the hunt are all enjoyable activities on the property.

The owners are happy to speak to guests and help with a full run-down of the property’s features and to be present if guests would like to meet the horses.

Tourist Attractions

Miles, Chinchilla and Condamine are nearby. There is one hotel and one BP service station in Condamine with normal opening hours. The Condamine Pub is on the river and has good meals and periodically good entertainment. Miles Historical Village Museum is open 7 days 8.30-4pm and Chinchilla has an annual Melon Festival.

We believe in the balance conservation hunting provides. Farm stock and native endangered species are in a continuous battle for survival against the feral animal plague that is crippeling Australia.
