Dirranbandi is a town and locality in South West Queensland, the area has a population of approx 711. The town is located on the Castlereagh Highway and the Balonne River.

The area experiences population variations as seasonal workers come to work on the many cotton fields. Due to the low annual rainfall, irrigation is used extensively in farming. Cubbie Station, the largest cotton producing property in the southern hemisphere, is close to Dirranbandi. Dirranbandi has a hospital, library, civic center, swimming pool, parks, and a showground.

The Property

The property is approx 35 Km east of Dirranbandi and 85 Km south of St George and has a mixture of timbered rocky ridges, open grazing, black and red soil cultivation country. Livestock and dryland cropping is the properties main source of income.

The property has good decent roads and close to town. The property is open to both shooters and bowhunters where you can target Foxes, Cats, Pigs, hares and rabbits. There is a restriction on Goats.

You don't need a 4wd to access the property, but it will be much easier to get around the property in a higher vehicle with good clearance.

Arrive anytime, as long as you arrive at the agreed time, the property owners work on this property, so arriving at the agreed time helps everything run smoothly.

Average temperature ranges throughout the year are - Winter temperature ranges from 2 – 23 and Summer 20 – 40+.

The best time to book this property is anytime. Summer if you don’t mind the heat, winter if you don’t like the heat. After harvest is usually a really good time to hunt for pigs on the cultivation country, timeframe is normally mid - late November through to January. It is also worth noting that this property does not charge trophy fees.

If guests would like to have a chat the property owners are happy to oblige but if they want to keep to themselves that is fine as well. They will go through any other rules when you arrive and to keep on their good side - just follow their rule. Basically its all just common sense.

The Accommodation

We believe in the balance conservation hunting provides. Farm stock and native endangered species are in a continuous battle for survival against the feral animal plague that is crippeling Australia.
